Ballinamore Area Community Council Ltd. (BACC) was formed in 1975. Our main aim is job creation and the creation of leisure facilities for those who live locally, making the area a better place to live, work, and play in. The BACC is a community body representative of the catchment area of Aughawillan, Aughnasheelin, Ballinamore, Corraleehan, Drumreilly, and Fenagh. We continue to work in partnership with individuals and organisations enabling the whole locality to reach its full potential – culturally, economically, and socially…
Our first venture was to purchase land around Poll an Easa Waterfall, and create an amenity area for locals and tourists alike. We then built the Enterprise Units, which support existing enterprises and encourage new business start -ups by offering low rental in an accessible central location. Next we built a Sports Complex to provide indoor sporting facilities to ensure a healthier lifestyle for all ages. A few years ago we built a Community Den, where the 1st Leitrim Scouts are based and where our new Peace Impact Programme office is located. Our facilities are for use by all members of the community regardless of culture, race, or religious background.
